A Place to Start

Supposing truth is a woman – what then? Are there not grounds for the suspicion that all philosophers, insofar as they were dogmatists, have been very inexpert about women? That the gruesome seriousness, the clumsy obtrusiveness with which they have usually approached truth so far have been awkward and very improper methods for winning a woman’s heart?

  1. Not that you have ever commented on my blog before, I thought I would ask a little question.

Well, I lied, I ask a lot of questions, most of which, annoyingly I receive no answers to. Wait. What was I saying?

All life comes from women, your part-a males part-is rather insignificant in the scheme of things contribution wise at the conception (in all aspects of that words meaning…) and is that why truth is a woman?

A mans instinct, in the few that I know well, are to get out the tools, lay out the directions and fix it all. Sometimes things must simmer and bubble and can’t be watched like an eclipse.

Sometimes things happen so slowly that you can’t even tell there has been a change until you realize one day that things are different then they were before but could not pin point a time that it happened.

I think I lost your train of thought and found my own. shit.

    I hate that.

No one knows another really. We only know what we are allowed to see and what we keep inside, or whats hidden, or secret or unknown is just as big as what we can really see and hear.

Wait, who said, Know thyself? That sounds right. When you know who you are, and aren’t busy trying to figure out what is wrong with everyone else or who they might be, it will just happen.

    Thats my 2 cents.

FYI…see this is how it works, you read something, have something to say and comment, not a private email.

Also, you need to select a nicer theme..go to wordpress and work it out.

    thank you

  2. hmmm, i think “know thyself” was written atop the oracle at delphi… or something like that… anyhoo, “truth is a woman” is a reference to nietzsche (as you probably figured out in the first post)… he was quite inept with women, and posited that if truth was anything like a woman, he (and philosophers generally) were screwed… mmmm double entendre…

  3. …but i like the path it was taking you along as well!

  4. …and what’s wrong with my theme!?

  5. I like your theme that truth is not as straightforward as we think.

“Truth” is based on perceptions and they are often inconsistent or inaccurate. So for many people seeing is not believing. Believing is seeing.

When people become overconfident in what they think is true they close off the possibility of seeing the entire picture. That is why filtering out facts that don’t match up with your perceptions can never lead to the “truth”!

  6. this theme is nicer. the other one was just the plain blue. this is nicer. Although I don’t like white print on blackbackground…in a long post its hard to read, IMO.

so, now I have commented on your blog ninny…

  7. i may have totally misunderstood Nietzsche but i took his famous quote as him being challenged as a philosopher from skirting away from ‘the truth’ when being pressed in debate and the first analogy he could make to the fluidity of finding truth is the same as winning a woman’s heart. women, for the most part, would prefer to be lied to; to turn their fantasy into reality. men prefer to take the concrete of reality and make it their fantasy. that’s where the two genders differ….in my humble opinion.
